Why To Do It

If you have a vested interest in the content of a page, you should watch that page. Possible reasons to watch a page include:

  • it describes a policy that affects you
  • it describes a tool or project that you operate, and you want to make sure that any changes to it are correct
  • it describes a tool or project that you are interested in

How To Do It

  1. Get yourself an account.
  2. Make sure you verify your email address.
  3. Log in.
  4. Click the "Watch" tab at the top of any page.

Yes, you need an account

You need to get an account for the Watch tab to be available, and you need to verify your email address so (a) your account will be created at all, and (b) you can receive mail from the wiki. Once you've set a watch on a page, you don't need to stay logged in for the watch to be active indefinitely.

What Happens

If you're watching a page, you'll receive mail when that page is modified, with a link that will make it easy to see exactly what was changed.

You Don't Get Spammed

You will not receive any more mail about updates for that page until you visit the page. So if you ignore your updates, they go away.

OK, Enough

Just click "Unwatch" at the top of any page you are watching.
