My background has been primarily in the field of education and DEI work. I am also a strong advocate for young people in general and BIPOC youth in particular. Growing up in a tight knit and loving family has taught me the importance of community and caring. Thus, my entire professional career whether at BB&N for 37 years (Diversity Director, Coach, History Teacher, Parent Liaison, Affinity Groups, etc.) or working/coaching young people from various backgrounds/communities, has been focused on restoring and maintaining the human dignity of people, social justice work and creating/supporting equal access to opportunities. I'm interested in AA because the people seem interesting, eclectic, passionate about AA and committed to DEI principles, which are dear to me. I hope to bring insight, experience, and perspective to DEI efforts, perhaps supporting members, community outreach and help to increase the understanding of what a DEI driven organization might look like and the steps to get there. I have been retired from BB&N for three years and presently I am an independent DEI and Educational Consultant.
