Draft Contract

Equipment that the "cargo bike business" plans to buy up front

  • Sand blast cabinet + accessories + initial set of replacement filters and gloves.
  • Powder coating oven + accessories.
  • Powder coating booth + accessories.
  • Electrician to survey and install 3-phase 50A power near the ovens.

If the cargo bike business plans to depart from the artisans asylum

  • The cargo bike business must give a 3 month notice before removal of the oven, booth, and blast cabinet.
  • Members of the business should be permitted re-entry to the building in order to use the sand blasting and powder coating facilities in the interim, in case their membership expires.

Damages

  • Unexpected damage to the blast cabinet, powder coating oven, or powder coating booth may suddenly greatly reduce the value or utiliy of the equipment. Unexpected damage is difficult to predict, by definition.
  • The full-time staff must encourage shop leads to organize repairs, for which I will supply any money for materials necessary to complete the repairs.
  • If at any point in time the blast cabinet, powder coating oven, or powder coating booth is inoperable, it must be tagged, per the Artisans Asylum standard policy around tagging.

Usage Fees

  • All of the equipment is very cheap to operate, there will be no usage fees.

Classes and Testing

  • A single class will be taught for all three tools, by Jeff O'Connell or other qualified person.
  • Users of the blast cabinet may not need to use the powder coating eqiupment, and vice versa. However, a seperate class on each individual tool would result in several classes that are too short.
  • Therefore, tool testing for any of the equipment should align with the class rubric, but the class MUST NOT be a prerequisite.
