QR Codes

Accessibility is everything! And providing information to guide tool access from a member's very first day in the shop can really help. QR codes are good access points.

Some shops make extensive use of QR codes for tools and procedures, particularly on tools that do not require tests to provide guidance, safety regulations, and tutorials for new users. Some shops do not use QR codes on tools that require tests in order to avoid diverting attention from the "tool testing required" sticker.

Creating a QR Code

Right now you could use sites like [MyQRCode]. These sites can make free QR codes and have customizations options. However they require a signup and the QR Codes have redirects that track usage (they don't go directly to the page chosen). These redirects could also be shut off in the future and require a payment, disabling the codes you have generated. Alternatively [QRDex] is a no frills simple QRCode generator without redirects.

Here is an image that you can place at the center of the QR code if you like that style: A2wikiFavicon.png

It is recommend you keep track of the URLs and QR codes generated so that if you need to recreate them you have records of what you need to update.

Printing a QR Code

It would be nice to have a way to print these QR codes on stickers at A2.
