Operating Instructions

Scanning using a PC

  • Connect your Windows laptop to the Ethernet network. You cannot scan using the wireless network.
  • Install the Canon LEI Scan app on your Windows laptop.
    • Scroll down and hit the "Load More" button twice to get to the page with the LEI Scan app .zip file.
    • Run the setup software as an administrator, or grant network privileges to the application, depending on your version of Windows.
    • If you've started it already, you might have to stop it running and restart it as administrator so that it works correctly.
    • Follow the instructions on this video starting at 3:33 to detect and number your laptop.
  • Scan to a file saved on your computer:
    • Scan using the button that looks like a single file folder.
    • Choose your file type, brightness, contrast, cropping, resolution and then hit the scan button.
    • The file will show up on your laptop automatically.
  • Scanning to a USB drive inserted in the scanner:
    • Insert the USB drive.
    • Select the button that looks like a USB stick.
    • Select TIFF output format. This is the only format that can be used with USB scanning.
    • Select other scanning parameters.
