My journey into the world of MakerSpaces began in 2013 when I launched the Innovation Lab @ Fay School- a lab focused on teaching K-9th graders Design Thinking and a variety of maker skills. During this same time, I completed the Fab Academy class in 2014 and used my newfound skills to build a custom desk, custom closet and other fun projects using the ShopBot and electronic gear. I am interested in A2 because I saw first hand how Design Thinking and maker skills can bring out the creative confidence in the younger generations and I know the impact A2 can have on the broader Boston community.
As a board member, I am currently the chair of the IT Committee and a member of the Governance Committee.
