Approved Materials for ShopBot
Woods
- Plywood
- Hardwood
- MDF
- Masonite/hardboard
- Reclaimed wood (remove metal fasteners)
- NO exotic woods with a potential allergy, sensitivity, or toxicity issues.
- NO woods with lead paint, or with nails
- NO woods with mold or fungus.
Plastics
- ABS
- Acrylic
- Polycarbonate
- PETG
- Delrin
- HDPE
- corrugated plastic
- PVC (make sure you don't overheat and scorch - releases nasty chlorine compounds).
Foam
- Urethane foam,
- Insulation foam (pink, blue, or yellow with an aluminum foil backing)
- Architectural foam (nothing with fiberglass)
Composites
- Solid-surface (Corian, composite countertop material)
- Melamine coated particle board
- aluminum covered plastic panels
Metals
- NO Metal
Fiberglass
- NO fiberglass or fiberglass impregnated material
Other
- No other materials are approved for use with the ShopBot.

- Please be ready to provide a sample of the material, and be ready to provide a sample and a Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
