PrintMonster is a workstation in Holton where you can print and scan up to 11"x17" in both color and black and white. It is located at the front of the Electronics and Robotics area. There is a small printer available in Antwerp as well.

PrintMonster is run on donations. Donations pay for color ink, laser toner, and paper. Suggested donation is $0.05 per side on the black and white laser printer, and $0.25/side for the color printer.

Printers

There are two printer/scanner systems, hooked up to a PC running Ubuntu. These printers are also available on the network.

Monochrome Laserjet

This is a Brother monochrome laser printer. It can do duplex monochrome printing and duplex color scanning up to 11x14". It can also act a simplex and duplex monochrome copier.

Color Inkjet

This is an Epson color inkjet printer and 11x17" color scanner.

Usage

You can print something transferred to the system via USB drive, or remotely access the printers from the network. These are public computers, and you should not use them for private/secure purposes or communications (email).

To scan documents, use the XSane application from the Ubuntu desktop.

Office Supplies

We have a small cache of pens, pencils, paperclips, staples, staplers, hole punchers, and tape at this station.

Consumables

The color printer is an inkjet printer, and prints up to 11"x17" paper. The black and white one is a laserjet printer, and prints up to 8.5" x 11". We work on a donation system rather than an accounting system to keep the system fed. Suggested donation is $0.05 per black and white print, and $0.25 per color print per side.

We purchase ink, toner, and paper with those donations from time to time. Please do not use paper for your own printer.

Shredder

A functional shredder sits next to the PrintMonster. Use at your own risk. Take your shredded output with you for utmost security.

Old Media

This station has a 3.5" external floppy reader, a Zip drive reader, and a CD reader (built into the PC). Please do not remove these from the area.

Antwerp Printing

There is a printer just inside the main entrance of Antwerp. It is a LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdw.
